Souris - Elmira

Colin LaVie has lived and worked in the community of District 1, Souris - Elmira, all his life and currently resides in the Town of Souris with his wife Shelley. Colin has two children, Shawn and Natasha.


Colin is a local lobster fisherman who is very active in his community, serving as Chief of the Souris Fire Department and as a long-time volunteer with the Eastern Kings Sportsplex.

Since his election in 2011, Colin has sat on the Standing Committees on Fisheries, Transportation and Rural Development; the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry; the Standing Committee on Health, Social Development and Seniors; the Standing Committee on Community and Intergovernmental Affairs; and the Standing Committee on Privileges, Rules and Private Bills. Colin also serves as the Opposition Caucus Whip and the Opposition critic for Fisheries; Community Services and Seniors; Agriculture and Forestry; and Environment, Labour and Justice.
