Charlottetown businesswoman Linda Clements will be PC candidate in District 15

Charlottetown businesswoman Linda Clements will be the Progressive Conservative candidate in District 15, West Royalty-Springvale, says PC Party Leader Rob Lantz.

Lantz made the announcement today following consultations with the local district association and the provincial executive.

A mother of four and dedicated community volunteer, Clements ran for the party as a candidate in the 2011 provincial election. Clements has worked with local groups such as the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Mikunduri Children of Hope campaign as well as being a supporter of literacy and arts programs. Clements has worked in real estate, property development and small business.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Rob Lantz team. His open and accountable leadership style and his vision for a new direction have inspired me and countless other Islanders. I look forward to getting to work for the people of West Royalty-Springvale and being their voice in a new Rob Lantz PC government," Clements said.

Added District 15 president Shirley Lank: “Since we are in the middle of a provincial election campaign we needed to have a candidate in place who can hit the ground running to represent our party in the district. Linda will do that.”

Clements brings the number of female candidates for the party in the 2015 provincial election to six, joining Darlene Compton, Mary Ellen McInnis, Lynn MacLaren, Dianne Young, and Debbie Montgomery.

“I’m delighted to see someone of Linda’s stature step forward to be part of our team. We want West Royalty-Springvale to have a seat at the table in our new government," said Lantz.
