Official Opposition extends best wishes for new school year
CHARLOTTETOWN - Progressive Conservative Leader Rob Lantz and the Official Opposition are extending best wishes to Island students, teachers and support staff as a new school year begins.
“A quality education is the single best investment we can make towards a brighter future for our economy and for our communities. A new school year is a time of excitement, opportunity and new beginnings,” said Progressive Conservative Leader Rob Lantz.
Georgetown St. Peters MLA and Opposition Education Critic Steven Myers acknowledged the tremendous effort required by teachers, support staff, parents and students to create a quality learning environment.
“Our teachers and support staff put in countless hours to help prepare our students to pursue academic success,” said Myers. “There is a lot of hard work put in by our students and families to support learning so I want to recognize that tremendous effort from all of our partners in learning.”
Morell-Mermaid MLA and Opposition Workforce and Advanced Learning Critic Sidney MacEwen pointed to developments such as the new School of Sustainable Design Engineering at UPEI and more articulation agreements between universities and community colleges like Holland College and College Acadie as broadening the range of opportunities for Island post-secondary students.
“The advancement of our post-secondary system plays an important role in improving career development and economic growth. I’d like to take this opportunity to remind students and families that there are resources available to assist with navigating the student loan process,” said MacEwen.
MacEwen encouraged all students with questions or concerns around student loans to contact Student Financial Services through email (email@example.com) or by phone (902-368-4640).
