Philip Brown seeks PC nomination in Summerside-Wilmot
Summerside – Former MLA and provincial cabinet minister Philip Brown today officially announced he is seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination in District 21, Summerside-Wilmot.
“My reasons for re-entering public life are quite simple. I want to make our community and province better, better not just for some but for all,” said Brown.
Brown has a long history of serving the community and has received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his volunteer work with the Royal Canadian Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Credit Union and the Federation of Agriculture.
Very active in the Progressive Conservative party for over 40 years, Brown has held multiple positions ranging from poll chair to provincial Vice President.
Brown was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from 2000-2007. During that time Brown served as Minister of Tourism and has sat on many Legislative and Cabinet Committees, including chairing a Cabinet Committee on economic policy.
Brown feels that his years of experience working on economic development issues at the local, provincial and federal level will be a great asset in serving the people of Summerside-Wilmot.
Brown and his wife Carol have six children and one grandchild.
