Ramsay disappointed candidate debate not going ahead

Summerside – Summerside-Wilmot PC candidate Brian Ramsay is disappointed that a planned all candidate debate will not be going ahead.

“I was surprised and disappointed that a planned debate between the candidates in the by-election won’t be going ahead due to ‘scheduling conflicts’ with one of the candidates. Usually this government waits until after the vote to ignore the needs of Summerside,” said Ramsay.

An all candidate debate for the upcoming by-election was being organized by the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce and the Journal-Pioneer prior to the October 17 by-election. Ramsay was surprised to learn that one of the candidates backed out, citing ‘scheduling conflicts’ for any possible time.

“I feel the people of Summerside-Wilmot deserve to hear where the candidates stand on the issues. That’s why I was pleased when the Chamber and the Journal-Pioneer proposed an all-candidate debate. I’m prepared to participate in the debate anytime or anywhere. The voters deserve no less,” said Ramsay
