Ramsay welcomes by-election call in Summerside-WilmotSummerside – The long-awaited by-election call in Summerside-Wilmot will finally give the people of Summerside a chance to choose their voice in the provincial Legislature, says Summerside-Wilmot PC candidate Brian Ramsay.
“I’m glad that the Premier has finally gotten around to officially calling the by-election after weeks of electioneering. We have important issues in Summerside that need to be addressed like better access to doctors and specialists, the lack of good paying jobs, high taxes and the high cost of living, and better supports for our seniors and youth. These are what I will focus on as the MLA from our district,” says Brian Ramsay.
A vacancy in Summerside-Wilmot was created by the sudden resignation of former MLA Janice Sherry on August 1. A by-election will now be held to fill that vacancy on October 17. Ramsay feels that with pressing issues like the upcoming increase to the HST on October 1 that it’s more important than ever for the people of Summerside to have someone in their corner who will stand up for their interests.
